Welcome to Saint John the Baptist Roman Catholic parish in the diocese of Orange. Our parish is staffed by six Norbertine priests assigned by the abbey of Saint Michael in Orange. The Norbertines of Saint Michael’s follow the nine hundred-year-old traditions of the Canons Regular of Prémontré, founded by Saint Norbert. Their primary work, as a Religious Order, is the reverent public chanting of the choir office. In addition to this, the priests serve in the parish church and its grammar school.
There are three main language groups (English, Spanish, Vietnamese) ministered to within the parish through Masses, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, prayer groups, volunteer opportunities and social events. Our primary goal is to make ourselves, together with our parishioners, saints. If that is your goal also, come join us!
|Tailor or Seamstress Needed
We are in need of a professional tailor or seamstress to employ for occasional repairs to SJB's liturgical cassocks, vestments, etc. We wish to give priority to any registered parishioners of our parish who are qualified. If none come forward in a reasonable amount of time we will consider others who are qualified. For more information call Fr Godfrey at (714) 540-2214.
|Prayer Campaign to Reverse the HHS Mandate
Over the next 8 months the Supreme Court will be reviewing the case against the HHS Mandate submitted by Priests For Life and other groups fighting for religious freedom. We urge all Catholics to pray for their victory by using the prayer (and prayer card) available on their website.
